Before you go. Tsomgo is a high lake. If you feel the altitude in Gangtok, do not add it.

Overview

Nathula needs an extra permit and often does not open for a casual day. Do not promise it to yourself.

Day by day

  1. Day 1 — The town

    Settle on MG Marg. Walk it after dark, when it is closed to cars.

  2. Day 2 — Rumtek

    A monastery day. Back for the marg.

  3. Day 3 — Tsomgo or a rest

    The shared jeep only if the permit is done and you slept well. Otherwise stay in town.
