Before you go. Book the safari before you book the flight. Elephant rides start later in the season than jeeps.

Overview

The park closes for the monsoon, roughly June through September, and reopens for jeeps around the start of October. Check the year you go.

Day 1 — Arrive and stop
The drive from Guwahati is enough. Be near the gate for the morning slot.
Day 2 — The jeep, then out
Central or Western range at opening. Breakfast. Do not add a second park.

Stay

A lodge in Kohora, close enough to the gate for a 6am jeep. About ₹3,000.

Move

One shared seat in. Walk after that. Leave a buffer on the day you go home.
